Galactic Grit TTRPG

Welcome to Galactic Grit, a high-trust, rules light, tabletop roleplaying game set in the universe of a fantastically gritty space western. This game is designed to provide quick character creation, simple rules that allow for diverse characterization and gameplay, and engaging mechanics that enhance collaborative storytelling and world-building.

In Galactic Grit, the priority is trust and respect among the game master and players. We believe in sharing narrative control, empowering everyone to shape the game's world, characters, and adventures. Players are encouraged to actively participate in crafting the lore, developing the setting, and influencing the outcomes of their adventures. Inspirations:

Galactic Grit draws inspiration from several Powered by the Apocalypse games, such as Lasers and Feelings, Blades in the Dark, and Monster of the Week. It also embraces the essence of OSR games. Prioritizing rulings over strict rules, Galactic Grit has straight-forward character creation and mechanics, placing a strong emphasis on role-playing, world-building, and character development. All of these elements are then wrapped up in a fantasy space western setting akin to Star Wars, Cowboy Bebop, Firefly, and Dune. 

How Does it Work?

Galactic Grit places a strong emphasis on narrative storytelling, encouraging players to vividly describe their character's actions rather than directly requesting rolls. The Game Master's role is to discern situations where a character's action necessitates a roll, prompting the player accordingly. Resolving a roll involves players rolling 1d8 and factoring in relevant traits, assists, or quirks.

What Do I Need to Play?

To play Galactic Grit, all you need are the rules, a standard set of dice (d4-d20), though players will need only a d8, a character sheet (provided as a PDF), a pencil, and paper.
